Business Basics: For the Early-Stage Business & New Entrepreneur
What
Have you been thinking about starting a business or are an early-stage small business owner but are feeling a bit overwhelmed about where to start and what the critical steps are? In this one-session workshop, we will introduce you to the basic steps and some fundamental tools for evaluating your business idea and developing a plan to move forward. The workshop will cover using the Business Model Canvas to map out the key components of your business; how to assemble a Business Plan that meets your needs and the needs of your potential investors or lenders; how to forecast a realistic expectation for your business’ revenues and expenses; and an overview the basic mechanics of establishing a company and registering it with the IRS, State, and local municipalities.
The workshop will cover a lot of information which may seem daunting in such a short time frame. But we won’t leave you on your own. The Boulder SBDC is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs start and grow their business. Our consultants are available to meet with you one-on-one in a confidential and no-cost setting to help you finalize your plans and gain a greater understanding of any of the material covered in the workshop.
